AUTISM SERVICES

Fee for Service Program:

CAFCA’s Autism Services Program (developed in 2003) is for parents of children and youth diagnosed with autism.  The program provides intervention, social groups, day camps, music therapy, and/or behavioural consultant services to parents of children and youth with autism. 

Parents of children and youth between 6 and 19 years of age are able to access the following services:-

Behavioural Consulting;
Music Therapy;
One-to-one Intervention Services;
Social Groups;  and
Day Camps (Junior, Tween and Youth Summer Camps 2010)

The Autism Program of the Ministry of Children and Family Development is a great starting point for parents of children and youth who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Parents can access information in regards to available services and funding in order to purchase these services. 

Parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder can also access information about autism funding by contacting Community Living BC. In the Capital Region, Community Living BC can be reached at 250-952-4203.

Autism Community Training-BC (ACT-BC) is a province-wide information and referral service created to support families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is a great website offering further information on services and training.
